De 1990 a 1998 The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show en WKCR fue otro de la época clave en el Hip Hop. Durante 8 años pasaron toda una generación de MC's que, aunque no eran conocidos, les sirvió de trampolín para dar a conocer sus nombre. Estamos hablando de Big L, Notorious Big, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Wu Tang Clan, Jay Z, Big Pun, Fat Joe.... gente verdaderamente importante.
